私は自分ではゲームをやらないが、人がプレイしてるのを見るのは好き。学生の頃、下宿で先輩がファミコンやってるのをずっと見ていたりした。
このアルバムに収録されている曲は、70年代～80年代のアーケードゲームや家庭用ビデオゲームに対する、非ゲーマー音楽家によるオマージュである。対戦型ゲーム、シューティングゲーム、RPG、アドベンチャーゲーム…といった典型的なレトロゲームの記憶を、SunVoxという音楽制作ソフトでたどってみた。
自分ではゲームをしないのに、ゲームに対して好ましい感情を持っているのは何故なんだろう。自分がゲームを楽しめたらどんなにいいだろう、とよく思う。しかし酒にあこがれる下戸のように、私はゲームが出来ない。
たぶんゲームをするには「上達」の必要があり、私はそのための努力があまり楽しめないタイプなんだと思う。
そんなわけで、私にはゲーム文化への憧れだけがある。グラフィック、効果音、アニメーション、ストーリー、そのすべてに妄想のような親近感を感じている。

I don't play games by myself, but I like to see someone else is playing them.
When I was a student, I often watched my neighbor friend playing video games by the side.
This album is a hommage by a non-gamer composer, for 70-80's arcade / home video games.
It emerged from my memory of old-school games, such as 2D fighting, shooting, role-playing and adventure, etc.
And here I tried to remember the impression of such great games in old age, making songs with SunVox software.
Why can I love games while I can not do them?
I always think how nice it would be, if I could enjoy playing games! But I can't do that as well as I can't enjoy drinking booze.
Maybe you have to do practice to enjoy playing them, and I am a person who are likely to hate making such efforts.
So basically what I have about games, is just an aspiration. Their graphics, animation, sound effects, music and stories. I just feel a kinship with game culture itself in a fantastic way.
